The Days of the Son-of-Man, The Armies of God, and UFO's

An explanation by Roy Taylor

Luke 17:26 And as it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be also in the DAYS OF THE 'SON-OF-MAN'.

WHAT DO UFO's HAVE TO DO WITH THE 'DAYS OF THE 'SON-OF-MAN' AND WHAT DOES THE BIBLE SAY ABOUT THEM?

Recently, especially in the last ten or twenty years, there have been tens of thousands of reports of UFO sightings from around the globe. These reports have been coming increasingly from people who have much credibility such as Generals in the military, leaders of countries, mayors of cities, police, etc…. These UFO reports are not coming from the lunatic fringe of society, these reported sightings of UFO's have now gone mainstream. This Bible study project will explain what UFO's are, where they come from, and what they are here for. This project will also explain what they are going to do.

Before I continue on with this project I have to give you some information that you will need to understand this Bible study project.

Is Jesus the 'Son-of-Man' spoken of in the Bible or is it someone else?

There is an ancient story about an Oriental peasant who fell in love with a princess. Her father, who was the king of that country, was against the affair so he told the peasant that he would approve of the marriage only if he made the right choice.

The king then put the peasant into an arena where there were two doors facing him. Behind one of the doors was the princess and behind the other door was a tiger.

The king told the peasant that if he wanted to have the princess' hand in marriage he would have to choose between the princess and the tiger. The story ends with the quote of "which door did he choose?" "Did he choose the 'Lady' or did he choose the 'tiger'?

If he chose the door of the 'princess' he would have the princess' hand in marriage but if he chose the door of the 'tiger' he would be attacked and the 'beast' would destroy him.

The moral of this story is, 'choose wisely.'

This is the same analogy that I always use when coming across the term, 'The Son-of-Man' when studying the Bible.

Through much Bible study and research I have come to the conclusion that there are only two ways to study the Gospels in the Bible.

The first way that you can study the Gospels is from the point of view THAT JESUS "IS" THE 'SON-OF-MAN.'

And The second way that you can study the Gospels is from the point of view THAT JESUS "IS NOT" THE 'SON-OF-MAN' AND THAT THE 'SON-OF-MAN' is SOMEONE ELSE.'

So using the same analogy from the story above there are two doors for the Christian to choose from when studying the 'Son-of-Man' in the Gospels.

The one door will open to the truth (the lady) and the other door will open to the untruth (the tiger). Therefore I have written this project from the point of view that JESUS IS NOT THE SON-OF-MAN AND THAT IT IS SOMEONE ELSE.

The reason that I have chosen this point of view is that the other point of view of Jesus being the 'Son-of-Man' does not make any sense in the prophetic scheme of things. This point of view is very confusing and will lead you down the path of error.

Let me explain:

The following information is from a book titled; 'The Parables of the Kingdom' by C. H. Dodd.

Chapter 3 page 66 says:

Jesus is represented in the Gospels as using the title 'Son-of-Man' with reference to himself. Whether in this they are true to historical fact is a question about which there is a still unsettled controversy. It is certainly true that our Gospels show a tendency to insert the phrase 'Son-of-Man' into contexts where criticism shows that the original tradition made Jesus say "I" (or 'I the man' when referring to himself) and it is argued that wherever the expression is used with reference to Jesus himself it is secondary.

Further it cannot be denied in unquestionably genuine passages Jesus is made to refer to the 'Son-of-Man' without the least suggestion that he is speaking of himself.

Here you can see that the early Church translators of the Bible inserted into the Gospels the word 'Son-of-Man' when it should have said "I" (or "I the man")."

This book continues to say on chapter 3 page 67:

In contrast, we know the titles 'The Messiah' and 'The Lord' were current in the Church; yet in the Gospels Jesus is only occasionally referring to Himself.

We can well understand that the growing tradition tended to introduce the term the 'Son-of-Man' into sayings, which did not originally contain it.

In other words the early Church translators of the Bible inserted the term 'Son-of-Man' into scripture in places where the original source of the scriptures did not originally contain it.

It seems that the early Church had their traditions and they, with good intentions, inserted their beliefs into the scripture causing Christians to err.

It is sort of like the modern-day fable of the 'Rapture', which has been inserted into modern Church doctrine thereby causing many Church people to believe in this foolish 'fable'.

This book continues and says on page 67:

Jesus speaks of 'the Messiah' as a person in Jewish Theology, without suggesting that he himself is that person.

Bible Scholars call this confusion of the 'Son-of-Man' designation, "The Synoptic Problem".
