Dear Brother Jack,

Thanks for the note and support. This "falling down" that is troubling you, appears that your drive to get somewhere, is a bit ahead of your body's ability to move about…Better slow down and take it easy..

As to what Lloyd Palmer has noted in his book "The Two Creations', I would suggest that he does answer much of the question of a "Satan" particularly as to that point about Job and Satan in Job 1. I will try and offer my own supportive views and an extract from what is found in the book Appendix. E, "Job and Satan."

I was working on a paper titled, "Satan, Devil, and Lucifer: Are They Real?" but have put it on hold as I went down to Florida for a week to play golf..Just got back and will pick up on it shortly.

But in the mean time I have heard Pete Peters a few times over the past month or so, and it appears as if he has gone over four square to promoting a Satan as being roaring about and making the rules so to speak, dictating to our lives, forcing us to do things which we should not-seeking that scapegoat described in Leviticus given to those who needed a demonstrative action to be able to lay sin upon and then see it driven off into the wilderness.

Something entirely at odds with those who introduced him to the Truth..Almost as if he needed to appeal to the dual seedliners in a marketing need--his several instances of shooting himself in the foot probably giving some of his supporters second thoughts.

But, from my own deductions and study, I can see that this issue is so ingrained in the psyche or the minds of most Christians that it is difficult to overcome, particularly if one takes a verse out of context and uses its statement as valid without also considering the real origins of the words, Satan, Devil and Lucifer…But, the truth of what the Bible has to say about these contrived "demons" can be laid directly at the feet of the Bible translators of both the Catholic Church and the Talmudists.

The words Satan, Devil and Lucifer, are complete mis-translations of the original words….All converted from nouns. "Adversary" being changed into a "Proper Noun" and given a name cleverly assigned, yet, having a similarity with the original word: i.e. Satan is taken from the Hebrew word, "sawtawn" meaning Adversary, and "Devil" from the Greek word, "diabolos", meaning "false accuser."

Lucifer is nothing but a Latin word meaning "Lightbringer"and never did appear in the early texts. It came from Jerome who inserted it into the Latin versions around 374 A.D. and later in the English Bible versions. It's sole appearance in Isaiah cannot be taken out of context as most do, failing to see that its reference is to the King of Babylon, Nebuchadnezzar. (Some may be in need of a scapegoat and not willing to see its true application)

I am convinced that many of us fail to follow God's exacting words in Isaiah 28: 9-11 that speak to such an issue as this one about Satan which has lent such confusion to the Word and distorted Christian doctrines. God was most emphatic about our study; being repetitive in His insistence on how we go through the Bible and study it's real intent. Those words are worth repeating:

"Whom shall He teach knowledge? And whom shall He make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk and drawn from the breasts. For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little: For with stammering lips and another tongue will He speak to this people."

Those words of God tell us to read and study as our knowledge comes from from Him as He states in v.9. Those words of His also advise us that His Word contains such complications and unrevealed meanings as to demand a precept upon precept study, and a line upon line analysis in order to fit all elements of His Great plan of the ages together.

"To Whom Shall He Teach Knowledge? Not those who would follow the deceit of the translators who changed the words of the Bible to divert its meanings to support false themes.

It is also clear to me that our doctrines and hence much of our faith has been gleaned from some "key" words taken from the original texts and translated into Latin and English with differing meanings and different purposes.

We are all well aware that these translators, particularly of the early Catholic Church and the later Jewish Masoretes both inserted differing words into their Bible translations that did not follow the original meanings in both Hebrew and Greek.

Further, when these originals were translated, as they were, many times, into Greek and to Latin and subsequently into English, each offered another opportunity to dilute the message by word-smithing these versions to suit the current demands of each group.

Certainly you are aware that words like, 'Hell'- 'Satan' - 'Devil' - 'Lucifer' - 'Gentile' -'stranger'- etc, became useful to the translators in adjusting each key word to suit the needs of the Church - that being a 'universalism' that saw all welcome, and the use of "fear" as the inducement to keep the parishioners loyal and contributing: a fear of some evil, overwhelming Satan or Devil and the fires of Hell which they controlled.

The words, Gentile and Stranger each had at least five different meanings or applications in the original languages, in both Hebrew and Greek, yet in English we find only one word used to depict them-thus giving the translators the option of picking and choosing the word to use. Both words have been so misconstrued in the English as to skew the doctrines of Christianity into today's Universalism.

I see much of the Bible as being properly understood by applications of plain "Common Sense." That much of what is seen as mystical and spiritual is done from a lack of that value of common sense; stemming mostly from a lack of historical knowledge; not looking at much of the Word from the historical perspective of each event or incident.

A bit of study of the association of events with their background would reveal that everything in the Bible fits together and can be explained and understood if we also see it as applying to God's Great Plan for His People Israel, that each is also recognized as a key element in His Plan.

That issue of Job and a Satan and the "sons of God" is no different. Some Christians are prone to see this appearance of some Satan as real without also considering other facts that emerge from these verses. So, lets look at that reference to Satan and Job. (Job 1:6-12)

Note that this event supposedly took place in heaven-that this entity, Satan, had been walking up and down in the earth -hardly a physical "need" for such a capable "being", and this group of People had a mission, to appear before the Lord. When these peculiar comments are analyzed, they actually prove that no supernatural entity was present, that the event was on earth and not in heaven, and that the "Lord" and the mission in question, was being done to fulfill an ordnance of God as outlined in Exodus 23:17.

In other words, the entire issue of Job and some Satan was not associated with any heavenly mission, or thwarted by a demon walking about the earth and the Lord being addressed was real, but was found among men. The entity called Satan was found to be co-existing with these other beings and that the Word does state that he was "also among them." (v.1)

Now, if this Satan was found among them, they certainly must have been aware of his, or its presence and since he had to walk about, rather then simply appear in spirit, they probably knew who this "satan" really was. We also know that this that group were to appear before the Lord, were fulfilling an assigned demand: "Three times in the year all they males shall appear before the Lord God." (Ex.23:17)

If these men were to present themselves before the Lord, certainly they could not do this up in "heaven", and the "Lord" had to be God's representative at the ceremonies outlined in Exodus 23, the three appointed Feasts. Further, God advised them that He would send an angel to "keep thee in the way."(v.20) Would an angel have "permitted" such a one as this "Satan" to have involved himself in corrupting these men? Hardly.

Job's troubles and sufferings came from God. God declared: "Thou movest Me against him, to destroy him without cause." (Job 2:3) Job also recognized that "the hand of God had touched him." (Job 19:21)

In your comments, you commented that Lloyd's book did not cover this issue. Well, lets take this from the beginning, and quote those verses of Job 1:6-12. Then the comments from Lloyd's book, The Two Creations, App.E. will be offered.

Quoting:

"Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan came also among them. And the Lord said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the Lord and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.(Job 1:6-12)

"Now the "fallen angel" proponents claim that this event took place in 'heaven' and that the sons of God mentioned here are angels. And, of course, the 'Satan' here has ascended for the meeting! Now this is a nice theory, but it just doesn't wash when we know Bible terms. I've pointed out before that the Bible term, 'sons of God,' was exclusive property of the sons of Adam through Seth and Shem, with other divisions coming at Abraham, Isaac and Jacob-Israel (Luke 3:38)

This truth is also confirmed in Ex.4:22-23) "And thou shalt say unto Pharaoh, Thus saith the Lord, Israel is my son, even My firstborn: And I say unto thee, Let my son go."

Now, as far as the angels being called the sons of God, Paul gives us clarification on this in Heb.1 "For unto which of the angels said He at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to Me a Son? V.5 But to which of the angels said He at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool? Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation? (v.3-14)

We can now see that the angels of God were never called sons. And that their job is to be ministering spirits to the heirs of salvation! So now you know what the Holy Spirit is! For more on this revelation read: Luke 12:8-10, Ex.23:20-23, Rev.22:16. Now, back to Job.

In the days of Job it was a common event for the sons of God to appear before the Lord. This "appearing before the Lord" became part of the Law covenant given to the children of Israel in Ex.23:17. "Three times in the year all thy males shall appear before the Lord God."

Prior to this command, and the establishment of the Law covenant to be implemented by the Levitical priesthood, Melchisedek was the priest of the Most High God.(Ref.Gen.14:18 and Heb.7). Knowing this fact, I can say without qualifiction that these sons of God (Israelites) came before the Lord (Melchisedek)who as their intercessor at that time in history.

Now, it's obvious from the context of Job 1:7, that this Satan (Adversary) was not one of the sons of God. In fact, this adversary when answering the question from the Lord, "Whence comest thou"? admitted that he was a man! His reply was, "From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it." Now, if that doesn't describe the locomotion of a person, I don't know what does! How in the world can any person then say that this "Adversary" was a "fallen angel?"
